Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the Islamic Republic adheres to its religious principles and international laws with regard to the prohibition of nuclear weapons.

Iran PressIran news:  Noting that Iran has not changed its nuclear doctrine, Nasser Kanaani told reporters on Monday that the Islamic Republic considers nuclear weapons as a threat to the world's peace and security and insists on the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), especially in the West of Asia. 

"Unfortunately, in the West Asian region, only the Zionist regime has not joined NPT, and the real danger is the Zionist regime's facilities."Iran has signed international treaties and conventions for the prohibition of weapons of mass destruction, including the NPT, he said.

The Heade of Iran's Council of Strategic Relations talked on Sunday about the deterrence doctrine of the Islamic Republic that if the Israeli regime dared to threaten Iran with a nuclear attack, then Iran would rethink its nuclear doctrine, noting that Iran advocated a region-free from any nuclear arsenals and every year announce it in the UN general assembly.
