Tehran (IP) - Following the 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Tehran, Iran's President had telephone conversations with several officials of the country, issuing instructions to provide the necessary services to the people.

Iran Press/Iran News: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani spoke separately with the Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani-Fazli, Tehran's Governor-General Anoushirvan Mohseni-Bandpei, and the Chief of the Red Crescent Society Karim Hemmati on Friday morning, shortly after the 5.1 magnitude earthquake in Tehran and some neighboring cities. 

President Rouhani issued the necessary instructions for the full readiness of all relevant agencies to provide the necessary services to the people.

In a telephone conversation with Interior Minister, the President stressed the need to prepare and employ all agencies in Tehran and certain provinces and to announce a special situation in these areas.

In a telephone conversation with Tehran's Governor-General, he praised the readiness and efforts of all departments and said: "We must be ready to help people in certain situations and inform them with accurate information."

Speaking with Chief of the Iranian Red Crescent Society, Rouhani said that all rescue teams, especially the Red Crescent, should be fully prepared in this regard. 

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred near Damavand at 00:48 local time on Friday which was felt in Tehran.
