Iran Press/ Iran news: Hossein Amir Abdullahian, a special aide and adviser to the speaker of Iran's parliament, on Thursday 7 May in his tweet stated that the Iraqi parliament's vote of confidence to the majority of the Iraqi prime minister's proposed cabinet would ensure Iraq's security and stability, he added: "Undoubtedly, the firm steps of the two countries will strengthen strategic relations."
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in his tweet extended congratulations to Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi on the formation of a new government, parliament and the Iraqi people. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by the Iraqi people and their elected government.
Iraj Masjidi, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baghdad, also congratulated the Iraqi parliament on the vote of confidence to the majority of Al-Kazemi's proposed cabinet and wished the new government success in serving the Iraqi people.
The Iraqi parliament on Thursday morning gave a vote of confidence to the majority of the cabinet ministers, Mustafa al-Kazemi.
Iraqi parliamentarians, from 22 of Al-Kazemi's proposed ministers voted in favor of the 15 ministers, refusing to agree with the five proposed ministers.
At the meeting, the decision on the two ministries of oil and foreign affairs was postponed due to disagreements over the proposed ministers.
