Iran, WHO discuss COVID-19 screening, diagnose and treatment

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Deputy Health Minister had a joint meeting with the World Health Organization's delegation, discussing the strategies for screening, diagnosis, and treatment of coronavirus.

Iran PressIran news: Iran's Deputy Health Minister, Alireza Raisi, at the joint meeting with World Health Organization's delegation, held on Tuesday in the Iranian Capital of Tehran, said that WHO delegation together with the experts from China held technical talks on the outbreak of COVID-19 as well as the solutions to prevent the disease as well as the ways of treatment.

Iran's top Health official added that the topics such as the significance of the borders, the methods of prevention, isolation, providing home services as well as introducing new medicine were among the most important topics discussed at the meeting.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus began in December 2019 in Wuhan, China, and apparently originated from animals. The virus has now spread to 70 countries in addition to 30 Chinese provinces.

So far, 91,318 people worldwide have been infected with the coronavirus, of which 3,131 have died due to disease, and 48,291 have recovered.

6 people have died from novel coronavirus in the US as cases nationwide surge while more than 100 are reported as infected cases.

The total number of Iranian people with coronavirus infection has reached 2,336 and 77 people have died and 435 people have recovered.
