We advocate legal right to use peaceful nuclear energy: Indian official

Tehran (IP) - Deputy National Security Advisor of India, Rajinder Khanna, who is in Tehran to attend the second regional security dialogue meeting, met with the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani.

Iran PressIran News: At the meeting, Ali Shamkhani emphasized the necessity of establishing lasting stability and security as the most urgent need for the nations of the region to ensure their peace and prosperity, saying that diplomacy is the best option for resolving conflict between countries in the region.

Referring to the good relations between Tehran and New Delhi, he said that by using the great capacities of the two countries, a proper pattern of regional engagement could emerge.

For his part, Rajinder Khanna emphasizing the willingness of the leaders of the two countries to develop bilateral cooperation, said: "India defends Iran's legitimate right to use peaceful nuclear energy and believes that Iran should enjoy all of its rights in the Nuclear Agreement 2015." 

He said that maintaining the agreement and the signatories' commitments to the deal have a major impact on international peace and security, noting: "Dialogue and avoidance of tension is the best way to resolve regional and international problems and conflicts." 207
