Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking at the Second Regional Security Dialogue Conference in Tehran, Rajinder Khanna said: "Afghan legitimate government should be at the forefront of peace talks, and other countries should play a facilitating role in this process."
He referred to drug trafficking and terrorism as a common threat to all countries in the region, adding that overcoming security threats without cooperation and playing an active role by all countries in the region is not possible.

Referring to the widespread and worrying presence of proxy terrorist groups in Afghanistan, he noted: "To advance the peace process, the role of those who do not think about stability and security in Afghanistan must be prevented."
The Indian security official highlighted the election and referendum as a decisive solution to attract Afghan groups to the peace process, adding that the recent Afghan presidential election was an important event and we hope it's results will be announced soon.
He noted that any involvement of foreign governments in the Afghan peace process needs to be coordinated with the Afghan government, adding that strengthening the Afghan defense and security forces should be a top priority for the international community to safeguard security in Afghanistan. 207
