Tehran (IP) - The Vice-Chairman of the Research and Technology Commission of the Iranian Parliament described Iran's membership of the International Institute of Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) as a big opportunity in the circumvent of the US sanctions.

Iran Press/Iran News: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press on Tuesday, the Vice-Chairman of the Research and Technology Commission of the Majlis and senior MP, Ghasem Ahmadi-Lashaki called the approval of the bill on Iran's membership of the IIASA by the Parliament a wise move and valuable action.

Ahmadi-Lashaki said the US is trying to put limits on Iran's trade and business dealings with other countries, but membership of the international organization would be a key to solve this problem and send the message to the world that all countries can stand by each other.

The parliamentarian stated that the IIASA is an independent and free-standing institute with no relations or ties to governments of 25 member states, adding that it is a great opportunity for Iran.

Lashaki said that the IIASA statute would suggest that the applied studies, as well as the methodical approach of the institute, may assist Iran to solve a variety of problems, such as shortage of water, hygiene and healthcare issues, the problem of dust particles, etc. , contributing to the economic prosperity of the country.
