Arbaeen pilgrims return home through Mehran border crossing
Ilam (IP) - With Arbaeen mourning ceremonies drawing to a close, Iranian pilgrims are leaving Iraq and returning home through Mehran international border crossing.
According to an Iran Press report, Mehran international border crossing which is located in Ilam province in Western Iran has been particularly busy with many pilgrims choosing this border crossing to enter and leave Iraq. It has been a record year in terms of the number of pilgrims heading for Iraq at Arbaeen this year.
The Mehran international border crossing is the most important and busy border crossing for pilgrims who wish to either enter or leave Iraq.
According to Iranian officials, this year some 3,300,000 Iranian pilgrims have participated in the Great Arbaeen Walk and mourning rituals. 207/211
