Iran Press/ Europe: In a phone conversation on Wednesday, Kazem Jalali and Anatoly Tikhonov stressed the two countries’ strong will for the continuation of economic cooperation especially the implementation of joint government projects.
The Iranian Ambassador to Russia noted the seriousness of the Islamic Republic of Iran in completing the ongoing projects and defining new projects aimed at deepening and expanding economic and trade relations between the two countries.
It was also decided that the two sides would continue consultations on the timing of the joint commission on trade and economic cooperation between Iran and Russia, given the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
The Deputy Minister of Energy and Secretary of the Joint Commission on Cooperation between Iran and Russia announced his country's readiness to continue talks and consultations in order to examine the state of economic relations and help resolve existing obstacles.
Earlier, While speaking to Novosti News Agency, the Iranian Ambassador to Moscow said: "Due to the outbreak of coronavirus in both countries and the cessation of many economic meetings and events, such as the visit of delegations and economic conferences and exhibitions, it is possible to change the time of the joint commission meeting.
Jalali also referred to the US officials' effort to extend Iran's Arms Embargo and told Ria Novosti that the Americans have withdrawn from the JCPOA and cannot use it as a member.
Jalali noted that all the current problems are due to the US violation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and UN Security Council Resolution 2231.
