Iran PressIran news: The report revealed that Iran's oil output, including crude, gas condensates, and natural gas liquids (NGL), averaged 3.822 million barrels per day (bpd) last year, up by around 170,000 bpd from the previous year. The figures showed that Iran produced 3.313 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensates per day in 2021, resulting in a 4.1% or 129,000 bpd increase compared to the previous year's output of 3.184 million barrels per day.

The report also indicated an 8.5% or 40,000 bpd rise in Iran's NGL production, reaching 509,000 bpd last year from 469,000 bpd in 2021. Additionally, the Energy Institute reported a 2.2% increase in production at Iran's refineries in 2022, as it rose to 2.397 million bpd from its preceding year's figure of 2.344 million bpd.

The Statistical Review of World Energy also highlighted a rise in natural gas production by Iran, with a recorded increase of 1.1% to reach a total of 259.4 billion cubic meters (BCM) in comparison to the previous year's figure of 256.7 BCM.

As of this year, the Energy Institute is now responsible for publishing the Statistical Review of World Energy after bp had published it for over seventy years prior to this changeover.

Overall, these figures suggest that Iran has been able to maintain its position as one of the world's leading oil producers despite facing numerous economic sanctions and political challenges over recent years.
