Iran official:

Accra (IP)- The Ambassador of the Republic of Iran to Ghana said that the double standard of the West is clear, as the West and the US are encouraging Israel's unfair behavior.

Iran PressAfrica: Speaking at a press conference held at Iran's embassy in Accra Ghana, Dr Bijan Gerami condemned the practices related to killing civilians of Palestine and described the ongoing situation in occupied Palestine as a result of the longstanding denial of the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to self-determination.

"The ongoing situation in occupied Palestine is a result of the longstanding denial of the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to self-determination. For more than 7 decades, the Palestinian people have been victims of the Israel regime’s aggression, violence, racial discrimination, and apartheid policies."

"The unconditional favoring of the Western media and countries and the United States over Israel's behavior is unjust and unfair, we are clearly witnessing the double standard of the West. The right to legitimate defense is an inherent right, that is clearly recognized in the United Nations Charter and international law. The action of the Palestinian people was a legitimate defense and response to the 7 decades of occupation and violence against the Palestinian people."

"It is important to note that Iran is not involved in the Palestinian response, as the actions are determined by the Palestinians themselves. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran declared that publicly. Israel points a finger at Iran because it refuses to recognize that a small country like Palestine has managed to make this sophisticated operation.  The Islamic Republic of Iran stands firmly behind the aspirations of the Palestinian people and supports the efforts of resistance groups and oppressed Palestinians."

"The support is fully consistent with International Law and UN charters. Including the principle of the right to self-determination. This will be Iran’s principal position until the occupation ends."

"We requested that the international community uphold human rights and prevent the continuation of the abuse of human rights and war crimes against the Palestinian people, as well as recognize the self-determination of Palestine."
