Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia is determined to continue backing Syria to eradicate terrorism.

Iran Press/Europe: Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in a joint press conference with his German counterpart Heiko Maas in Moscow on Friday, depicted as ”unacceptable” the continued violation of the demilitarized zone agreement and targeting Syrian army points and civilians by Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization.

Russian Foreign Minister stressed that the return of all Syrian territories to the state authority is the best way to stop the increase of terrorism again, SANA reported.

On Oct. 11, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that eradicating terrorist threats in Syria must be a top priority.

“It was necessary to preserve the unity and sovereignty of the Syrian territories,” Lavrov said, calling on the international community to constructively cooperate for reaching a political solution to the crisis in Syria as soon as possible.

Lavrov said that he will meet the new UN Special Envoy to Syria Geir Pedersen in Moscow next Monday.

More than 330,000 people have been killed in Syria and millions have been driven from their homes since the conflict began in March 2011, and the infrastructure of the country has been destroyed.
