Iran Press/ Iran news: Following the destruction of this dam, large parts of the region were flooded and thousands of people were forced to leave this region.
In his first reaction to the incident at Nova Kakhovka dam in the Kherson region, Russian President Vladimir Putin called it a barbaric act organized by Kyiv under the direction of the West.
Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, while expressing his deep concern about the Nova Kakhovka dam collapse incident, said:
"Considering the complexity of the conflict situation, we call for clarifying the dimensions of the incident and identify the main cause of this disaster."
According to Iran Press, in response to the horrific act of destroying the " Nova Kakhovka" dam in southern Ukraine, Kanaani expressed deep concern about its humanitarian, environmental, and economic impacts.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran reiterated the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the opposition to the war in Ukraine, the destruction of civilian facilities and endangering the lives of human beings and civilians, and the adherence to all involved parties to internationally recognized principles, including the protection of civilians' lives as well as reducing their sufferings.
