Afghanistan (IP) - One of the principles Imam Khomeini emphasized to be followed by the freedom seekers is to support the oppressed and to avoid a luxurious lifestyle, says an Afghan cleric.

Iran PressAsia: On the occasion of the 34th demise anniversary of the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution, Hojjatoleslam Taher Najafi enumerated the principles on which Imam Khomeini stressed.

He said that Imam Khomeini paid special attention to the oppressed people of Afghanistan, particularly during the fight of the Afghan mujahids against the former Soviet Union's invasion of Afghan soil, recalling that Imam ordered to assist the mujahids while Iran was under harsh sanctions.

Najafi said that Imam Khomeini always supported the oppressed of the world and moved in the path while never surrendering to the world's arrogant powers.

Imam's message to global arrogance; you have no right to interfere

He insisted on demonstrating pure Islam and distinguishing it from both secular Islam and reactionary Islam, noted the Afghan cleric.

As with the role and status of women in Islamic society, the Afghan cleric said that in Imam Khomeini's point of view, women are half of the Islamic society's body.

Trust in the people's will, explicit opposition to the world's bullies, belief in national independence and rejection of global arrogance, and reliance upon national and religious unity against the enemies' plots were among the very principles that Hojjatoleslam Najafi enumerated.
