Commentary:

Tehran (IP) - Coinciding the liberation of Khorramshahr and the auspicious days of 10-day of munificence, the Kheibar long-range strategic missile was unveiled in the presence of Iran's Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.

Iran PressCommentary: The Kheibar missile, which is the newest version of the Khorramshahr missile class, is a liquid fuel missile with a range of 2,000 km and a 1,500 kg warhead, which, in addition to having strategic features, also has tactical features.

Among the salient features of the Khorramshahr missile is having a guidance and control system in the middle phase of the flight, the use of this system and guidance engines in the warhead leads to controlling the condition and correcting the trajectory of the warhead outside the atmosphere, and practically all the guidance and control of this missile is in It takes place outside the earth's atmosphere; This feature leads to the fact that Khorramshahr 4 or Kheibar does not need the activity of the guidance and control system inside the atmosphere and thus is completely immune to electronic warfare attacks.

It is clear that the need to maintain and improve defense power is different for different countries, and since the Islamic Republic of Iran has a strategic position and has always been under threat from foreign enemies, it is necessary to continuously improve its defense power.

The Leader has emphasized this importance many times and considered it necessary to prevent threats and also maintain the security of the country.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized in a meeting with a number of commanders of the armed forces in December 2018: "The Islamic Republic does not intend to start a war with anyone, but you must increase your capabilities so that the enemy is not only afraid of attacking Iran but also thanks to the solidarity, authority and effective presence of the armed forces in the field, the shadow of the threat is washed away from the Iranian nation."

The Islamic Republic of Iran also, in light of the experiences of the war with the Baathist regime of Iraq and with regard to the international sanctions in the field of purchasing and equipping modern military weapons, has turned to adopt a defense self-reliance approach against regional and extra-regional threats, with a focus on strengthening indigenous ballistic missile capabilities.

Based on this, the Islamic Republic of Iran has taken great strides in achieving deterrence by designing and building various types of ballistic missiles with different applications. "Shahab", "Fateh", "Qiyam", "Emad", "Sajil", "Khorramshahr", "Dezful", "Fatih Mobin" and "Raad 500" missiles are among Iran's achievements in the field of ballistic missile production, which It has increased the deterrence of the country.

Now, the all-round readiness and capabilities of Iran's armed forces, especially in the field of missiles and drones, have not only increased the security and deterrence of the country, but have also caused fear and anger in the enemies, for example, Erik Kurilla, commander of United States Central Command In West Asia recently said with concern about Iran's missile power: "Iran's military capabilities have increased compared to five years ago, and with thousands of ballistic and cruise missiles, it has the largest and most diverse missile arsenal in West Asia; Iran also has the largest and most capable drone force in the West Asia."

It is obvious that the Iranian armed forces, with a real understanding of the battle scene, have planned most of their activities in the field of defense industry by relying on the existing technologies and with a view to improving them and achieving new technologies, which is the unveiling of the long-range strategic missile.

And the Kheibar precision-guided missile is considered to be the latest achievement of the defense industry in the field of missiles; Brigadier-General Mohammad Reza Ashtiani, the Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in this regard: "We are taking steps to strengthen the armed forces in various areas of missiles, drones, radar, etc., and these unveilings will continue."
