Tehran(IP)- Iran's Foreign Minister said the Swedish Parliament's action against the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) was carried out by the incitement of terrorists and rejected by Iranians.

Iran PressIran news: On Thursday, in a telephone conversation with his Irish counterpart Micheál Martin, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian condemned the Swedish Parliament's putting IRGC on the list of so-called 'terrorist organizations' of the European Union.

Amir-Abdollahian emphasized: "IRGC is a governing body that is responsible for guarding the country's border security."

Pointing to the diverse fields of cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Ireland, Iran's FM emphasized taking advantage of the available opportunities in line with the interests of the two countries.

Micheál Martin, for his part, appreciated the humanitarian decision of the Islamic Republic of Iran to release an Irish citizen, emphasizing Ireland's will to cooperate with Iran.

Stating the awareness of Iran's role in the fight against terrorism, Martin noted: "Ireland is never interested in misjudging the governing body of the IRGC."

The Irish FM expressed his satisfaction with the process of Iran's cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and noted that Ireland welcomes the process.
