Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs considered the actions of the Swedish Parliament against the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps ( IRGC), influenced by the terrorist groups, urging Sweden to avoid falling into the trap spread for destroying the relations between the two countries.

Iran PressEurope: Nasser Kanaani, the spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in reaction to the unwise action of the Swedish Parliament against IRGC said, "The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps is a sovereign institution that emerged within the Iranian nation and has an official and legal identity originating from the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran along with other Iranian armed forces, it is responsible for guarding the country's national and border security.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added: Beyond the responsibility of defending the national security and territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has played a decisive role in the fight against ISIS and Takfiri terrorism over the past decade.

"Protection of regional and international peace and security has been played and such a role will not be erased from the historical memory of the Iranian nation and especially the people of the regional countries who became under attacks of ISIS terrorist group, Kanaani said.

"The spokesperson of the diplomatic agency stated: "The illegal action of the Swedish parliament under the influence of the terrorist and rejected elements of the Iranian nation is an anti-Iranian move, contrary to the standards and accepted principles of international law, including the sovereign equality and non-interference in the domestic affairs of states, and is an example of breach to the sovereignty and national security of Iran."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns this action by the Swedish Parliament in the strongest terms.
