Damascus (IP) - Iran’s President in a meeting with the Syrian Prime Minister stressed that the two countries should expand their cooperation in economic and trade fields.

Iran PressMiddle East: Speaking before noon on Thursday during his meeting with Syrian Prime Minister, President Raisi described the long-term and strategic cooperation program between Iran and Syria, which was signed during his visit to Damascus at the level of high-ranking officials of the two countries, as the beginning of a new chapter in the friendly, brotherly relations between the two countries.

President Raisi made the comment on Thursday in a meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Hussein Arnous in Damascus on the second day of his landmark visit to the Arab country.

In this meeting, President Raisi emphasized the special attention of the Syrian Prime Minister to the full implementation of the cooperation documents and agreements signed between the two countries.

Referring to Iran's great capacities in economic fields, Ayatollah Raisi said, "Iran-Syria cooperation should continue and expand in the calm days after the crisis in commercial and economic fields so that both nations can enjoy its benefits".

In this meeting, Syrian Prime Minister Hossein Arnous also appreciated the support and assistance of the Iranian government and people during the Syrian crisis and stated, "Syria will never forget the kindness of its Iranian brothers during the war, and Iran is our priority in cooperation for reconstruction".

Welcoming the development of Tehran-Damascus relations in various fields, especially in the economic and commercial fields, the Syrian Prime Minister said that he would seriously pursue the full implementation of the comprehensive plan and 14 cooperation documents signed between the two countries.
