Iran Press/ Middle East: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Muscat late on Tuesday.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, at the invitation of his Omani counterpart, and in line with the regional consultations headed a delegation to Muscat, the capital of Oman, to meet the officials of this country.
Iranian Foreign Minister met Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, and other Omani officials about the most important regional events, bilateral relations, and international relations.
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian held a meeting with Mohammed Abdulsalam, the chief negotiator of Yemen’s National Salvation Government at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Oman.
During the meeting, Amirabdollahian described as positive the openings created in the case of humanitarian issues and exchanges of hostages in Yemen.
He laid emphasis on Yemen’s territorial integrity and said, "The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes any initiative, plan and action that leads to the lifting of the blockade of Yemen and the establishment of a comprehensive ceasefire and understanding among the Yemeni political groups."
For his part Mohammed Abdulsalam, the top negotiator of Yemen’s National Salvation Government thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for providing humanitarian support to Yemen, briefing Amirabdollahian on the latest situation of talks with Saudi Arabia in Sana’a in different fields.
He evaluated the impact of the recent agreement between Riyadh and Tehran on the situation in the region as positive and added, "We will continue to resist and talk until reaching an agreement that will ensure the rights of all Yemeni people."
