Riyadh (IP) - The head of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran met and discussed with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia for the reopening of Iran's diplomatic missions in Saudi Arabia.

Iran PressMiddle East: Hassan Zarnegar Abarghoi, the head of the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the reopening of Iran's political offices in Saudi Arabia, on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, upon arriving in Riyadh, met with Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul Majid bin Rashid Al-Samari, and discussed ways to facilitate the reopening of the Islamic Republic of Iran's diplomatic missions.

In this meeting, the deputy foreign minister of Saudi Arabia welcomed the presence of the Iranian delegation in Riyadh and Jeddah and announced the full readiness of the   Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs to provide necessary assistance.

In this meeting, he appreciated the facilitation and acceleration of affairs and Iran's warm welcome to the Saudi delegation.

The Saudi Arabia's reopening delegation will be in Tehran from Saturday this week and will leave for Mashhad tomorrow.

Mediated by China, Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran agreed to restore their relations after seven years of pause since 2016. 

On Wednesday, April 12, an Iranian technical delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia to reopen Tehran's Consulate General and Iran's mission in the Islamic Cooperation Organization in Jeddah.

The delegation entered Saudi Arabia as the Saudi Council of Ministers reviewed on Tuesday the latest developments about the implementation of the Tehran-Riyadh agreement.
