Baghdad(IP)- Heads of Iraqi tribes stressed the importance of World Quds Day in support of Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque by holding various programs including conferences in Baghdad and Karbala.

Iran PressMiddle East: The last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan is called International Quds Day. The day when, with the initiative of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini, the conscience of the world was awakened to the issue of Palestine and Al-Quds. 

Holding conferences, marches, and carrying images of Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as delivering speeches, are among the programs of Iraqi tribal leaders on the occasion of International Quds Day.

"Sheikh Abu Adel al-Halfi", one of the heads of the tribes of Baghdad, in an interview with the Iran Press correspondent, stressed the importance of the Iraqi people's participation in the World Quds Day ceremony and said that the Quds Day march is a day to declare hatred against the Israeli regime.

"Ziyad Al-Nakhleh", the Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, is the keynote speaker of the World Quds Day ceremony in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq.

Considering the developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and the frequent Israeli attacks on Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, this year's International Al-Quds Day is of double importance.
