Vienna (IP) - The Secretary General of Iran's Drug Control Headquarters (DCHQ) and the Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed a 5-year cooperation agreement in the fight against narcotic drugs.

Iran PressEurope: The MoC was signed on Wednesday evening between Iran's Eskandar Momeni and the UNODC's CEO Gada Wali in Vienna.  

Everyone emphasized the effective role of Iran in various areas of the fight against narcotics, with follow-ups being done by the UN to sign the five-year document, said Eskandar Momeni. 

He said that the agreement was concluded within 4 areas including the fight against narcotic drugs, reduction of demand for narcotics, treatment of the addicts, and empowerment.

The annual meeting of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs kicked off on Monday in Vienna with the presence of Iran's Secretary General of Drug Controlling Headquarters Eskandar Momeni.
