Vienna (IP) - The annual meeting of the commission of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) kicked off on Monday in Vienna at the European Headquarters of the UN.

Iran PressEurope: The Secretary of Iranian Drug Control Headquarters (DCHQ) Eskandar Momeni attended the meeting that has been underway for five days.

Increasing the cultivation, production, and trafficking of drugs globally, the emergence of designer drugs, and the mechanisms to fight them were among the pivots of the session.

Iran's Momeni is scheduled to present a lecture in the commission meeting with the Executive Director of the UNODC in Vienna Ghada Wali. 

According to the UN Office, the Islamic Republic's continuous efforts to combat narcotics trafficking came up with the seizure of more than 90 percent of opium, 70 percent of morphine, and 20 percent of world heroin.
