Iran PressIran News: During a meeting in Tehran on Saturday between Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, Raisi urged the need for preserving the independence of the UN nuclear agency.

Raisi said: "We expect the IAEA to act professionally and that the powers that seek their own interests and goals will not influence the body."

Grossi, for his part, also said: "Iran and IAEA cooperation is long-standing and positive. The continuation of this process requires continuous and high-level cooperation in order to strengthen bilateral relations."

Earlier on Saturday, Grossi also held a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The IAEA chief also met and held talks with the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Mohammad Eslami on Friday.

Eslami and Grossi held a joint press conference on Saturday morning as well.

Rafael Grossi arrived in Tehran on Friday with discussing the Iranian nuclear program on agenda.
