Tehran (IP): The Vice President and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has told the head of the UN nuclear agency in Tehran that communications and reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) should help build trust between the two sides.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad Eslami made the remarks in a joint press conference with Rafael Grossi, the IAEA’s Director General, on Saturday.

“The recent meeting with Grossi, which started on Friday, heralds the establishment of communication and relations between Iran and the Agency,”  Eslami said, adding, “Communications, commutes and reports must help build trust.”

IAEA seeks systematic talks with Iran

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi stated that the IAEA always seeks a systematic conversation with Iran, adding: "The prevailing atmosphere in this trip is based on honesty, so cooperation continues with Iran."

The IAEA's chief described to his meeting with the Iranian nuclear scientists on Friday night as beneficial, saying: "Last night, the contribution of Iranian women nuclear scientists was extraordinary and it was a surprise that so many women are active in the nuclear field."

Eslami stresses 84% uranium enrichment rumour

The Head of the Atomic energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said one could see in Mr. Grossi's report that 84% referred to particle detection, not enrichment.

Mohammad Eslami said: "According to the inspection done, the criterion was the amount of production that had taken place and the storage where the production was saved has not have the enrichment above 60 percent; that is why this ambiguity is not so important and it has been resolved in a certain way."

"we will lead to a solution in the form of a model of behavior and interaction," he told the reporters.

Safeguard ensures IAEA's trust in Iran 

The Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) notes that as long as the European signatories refuse to commit to their JCPOA commitments, the safeguard signed would make the IAEA sure about Iran's nuclear program.

About the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Mohammad Eslamic said that the E3 countries cannot pressure Iran and the IAEA to force the country to fulfill its JCPOA obligations, while they did not commit to their obligations themselves.

He said: "Therefore, to keep the safe side, Mr. Grossi and I agreed to regulate our relations within the framework of the safeguards."

Iran's international nuclear agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed between the country and the P5+1 group, including Russia, China, the UK, France, the US, and Germany in 2015, but the US withdrew from the agreement on May 18, 2018, re-imposing more sanctions on Iran.

Iran never compromises over national interests

The Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) stressed that Iran would never compromise its national interests and security with anything.

In response to a question about the possibility of issuing a resolution against Iran, Mohammad Eslami stressed that Iran has always been determined to advance its goals and does not compromise with any party over its national interests and security. 

If a resolution is to be issued, the relevant authorities will definitely make a decision, and we will act according to those decisions, Eslami noted. 

He said: "The important point for myself and Mr. Grossi at this time is to strictly implement and adhere to what is within our safeguards framework to assure the IAEA and we will not allow elements or other factors or actions to undermine these communications."

"For this reason, we will cooperate continuously and we will not allow any non-compliance to arise and create uncertainty," he added.

The visit of the Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to Irani recalls the professional cooperation between the agency and Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI).

The Head of IAEA Rafael Grossi arrived in Tehran on Friday and was officially welcomed by the Spokesman of the AEOI, Behrouz Kamalvandi. 

Eslami said that the cooperation and ties between the two nuclear entities must always be trustworthy so that the settlements of the issues would take place away from any malice element, and ties would remain sustainable. 

IAEA condemns any illegal military action against  power plants

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi stated that any military action against nuclear power plants is condemned, and it is outside of the structural norms on which we operate. 

The UN nuclear chief is planning to meet with the Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during his 2-day stay in Tehran.
