Japan (IP) - An Iranian young photographer managed to win the special prize of the 83rd International Photographic Salon of Japan.

Iran PressAsia: Matin Hashemi from Tabriz, northwestern Iran, portrayed a story about horse eye surgery that was photographed 2 years ago.

Sponsored by The All-Japan Association of Photographic Societies (AJAPS) and The Asahi Shimbun, the contest received a total of 5,015 photos from 72 countries.

International Photographic Salon of Japan is one of the oldest that is held by the Asahi Shimbun Publications, the world's second wide circulation newspaper, in the country.
