Alborz (IP) - The police commander of Alborz province of Iran announced the arrest of two people who were involved in the martyrdom of the police officer of this province.

Iran PressIran news: Brigadier General Hamid Hadavand, the police commander of Iran's Alborz province, said that on Monday evening, Mohammed Mehdi Vakili from Chaharbagh police officers was martyred in an armed conflict with drug dealers.

Brigadier General Hadavand added that this anti-narcotics police officer of Chaharbagh city was attacked during the pursuit of drug dealers in this city.

The police commander of Iran's Alborz province stated that two of the perpetrators of the martyrdom of this police officer were arrested and stated that three other people related to drug sales were also arrested in this operation.

Despite the sanctions, the Islamic Republic of Iran has the highest number of drug seizures in the world seizing more than one thousand tons of narcotics per year.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has also offered more than 12,000 veterans and martyrs in the fight against drug trafficking in the world.

The United Nations has named Iran as a flag bearer in the fight against drugs.
