Tehran (IP) – Iran's Intelligence Minister announced on Monday that the second perpetrator of the terrorist attack on Shah Cheragh Holy Shrine in Shiraz had been arrested last night.

Iran PressIran News: Iranian security forces last night managed to identify and detain the second perpetrator of the Shah Cheragh terrorist attack, Iran's Intelligence Minister Esmaeil Khatib said on Monday.

Speaking at the National Conference of passive defense on Monday morning, Esmail Khatib said countering the enemy's conspiracy requires all-around vigilance of the people.

Esmail Khatib stated that the technical and defense measures of the Ministry of Intelligence led to the arrest of the second perpetrator of the terrorist attack on the "Shah Cheragh" holy Shrine.

"We also used public reports," he noted and added that "the terrorist was arrested in Shiraz."

Referring to the enemies' threats, Esmail Khatib said: We are facing a combined, intelligent, and continuous enemy war.

If passive defense becomes intelligent, active, effective, and protective, it can play a significant and severe role in establishing security, he said, prioritizing safety over any issues.

Khatib said: "Today, new and changing threats are endangering our country, so serious action should be taken based on intelligence, vigilance, prediction," stressing the cyber threats.

The top intelligence official recalled that the enemy wages its threats when the nation wants to be independent, progressive, and civilized.

For more than 40 years, the enemy has been making hostility against the Islamic Republic system daily with conspiracy, sedition, coup d'état, hypocrisy, cultural aggression, and everything in his power. Still, he noted that we should not let them get what they want.

On Wednesday (October 26), a terrorist attack on pilgrims and prayers at the Shiraz holy shrine of Shah Cheragh in the southern city of Shiraz in the Farce Province, south of Iran, left 15 dead and 27 others injured.
