Italy (IP) - The one-day nationwide strike of public transport workers in Italy ruined Friday for Italians and tourists to the country.

Iran PressEurope: According to the Iran Press correspondent in Rome, Italy, the bus drivers, trams, and local trains across the country have stopped working for 24 hours since Friday morning.

The strike caused thousands of Italian citizens as well as foreign tourists to wander in the big cities of the country, including Rome.

The Italian public transport workers carried out the strike to protest against their low salaries; they also intended to show their protest against the lack of job security, the continuation of the livelihood problems, and the privatization of the transport sector.
