Rome (IP): Italian people protested against the country's poor economic and social situation.

Iran PressEurope: Coinciding with the 24-hour general strike in Italy, on Monday evening, tens of thousands of people took to the streets in major Italian cities, including Rome.

Demonstrators in major Italian cities chanted anti-government slogans, criticizing the economic policies of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

The demonstrators also called for resolving economic problems, increasing incomes, government support for the unemployed, granting bank facilities, and preventing the dismissal of workers and employees.

Many workers and employees are on the verge of dismissal following the end of government support for private-sector workers in Italy and the ban on their discharge due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

In the meantime, many companies and factories have filed for bankruptcy due to the severe consequences of the Coronavirus in Italy.
