Iran Press/ Iran News: As a result of the avalanche in the last four days, 17 people have died in a number of cities of the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region on the border of Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Pakistan.
Gorno-Badakhshan, officially the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Region, is an autonomous region in eastern Tajikistan, in the Pamir Mountains. It makes up nearly forty-five percent of the country's land area, but only two percent of its population.
While expressing his sympathy to the government and people of Tajikistan for the death and injury of a number of people in this country in the avalanche incident in Badakhshan Autonomous Province, he expressed his condolences on the death of a group of Tajiks in this unfortunate incident.
