Tehran (IP) - Spokesman for Iran's Guardian Council said that the legal procedures for the country's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) have been completed, and the body has accepted it.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at his weekly press conference on Monday morning, Hadi Tahan-Nazif stated that the next bill is the double-urgent bill to note Iran's commitments in order to obtain the status of a member state at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

According to Tahan-Nazif, "this emergency bill is related to the memorandum of Iran's commitments in order to obtain the status of a member state at the SCO, which was examined in the recent meeting of the Guardian Council and was not found to be against the standards of Sharia.

"This was the last remaining part of Iran's accession to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that was approved; the legal procedures for Iran's membership in the Shanghai Organization were completed with this approval," added the Iranian official.
