Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Oil says the last refinery of South Pars, the 14th phase, will be launched within the next few days.

Iran PressIran news: On the sidelines of the cabinet session on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, Javad Owji told reporters that with the project being opened, the construction project of the South Pars refineries will wrap up.

Asaluyeh, located on the westernmost coast of the Persian Gulf, is home to some huge gas processing and petrochemical facilities that feed on the natural gas supplied from South Pars, the world’s largest gas field that is shared between Iran and Qatar.

Owji said that until the end of the current (Iranian) year, two further petrochemical complexes would be opened. 

To utilize the projects, more than $3 billion were spent, he added.
