Thran (IP) - The Spokesman of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque in Peshawar in northwestern Pakistan and extended a message of condolence to the Pakistani nation and government.

Iran PressIran News: A suicide bomber has struck inside a mosque in the north-western Pakistani city of Peshawar, killing at least 56 people and wounding another 150.

Issuing a statement on Monday, Nasser Kanaani said: The Islamic Republic of Iran again condemns any form of terrorism and extremism and stresses that fight against all forms of inhuman actions.

Kanaani called on the region's countries to cooperate in an effective fight against the organizers, supporters, and financers of such terrorist operations. 

The assailant detonated the bomb as 200 worshipers – including many police officers from nearby offices – were praying. 

Zafar Khan, a local police officer said the explosion collapsed the roof of the mosque and injured many.
