Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister said in a meeting with a number of Iranian lawmakers sanctioned by the European Parliament that the entity's action showed that they have no appropriate understanding of inside Iran and even the Iranians abroad.

Iran PressIran news: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said: "That they sanctioned you is indicative of the influence of your words in the society, among the Iranians across the region and in Resistance Axis."

Amir-Abdollahian noted that the Europeans were well aware of their incompetence and the non-binding decision of their parliament to boycott the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), so they resorted to putting a few individuals on their sanctions list.

He stressed that in case any action was taken against the IRGC, Iran's response to it would be very tough.

Drafting a bill on January 18, the European Parliament called on the European Union to put the name of the IRGC in its so-called list of 'terrorist organizations.'

The adoptions of the European Parliament are not binding but are merely a proposal to the European Union.
