Iran Press/ Iran news: The Dena destroyer is the fourth product of the Moudge-class ship class vessels that was designed and built by the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This ship joined the Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in June 2021 and is equipped with various weapons such as anti-ship cruise missiles, torpedoes, and naval cannons.
IRIS Makran is also a 121,000-ton forward base ship of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy, in service with its Southern Fleet since 2021 and named after a coastal region in southeastern Iran.
This naval vessel, currently the country's largest military vessel, joined the army navy in 2021 and is responsible for supporting the naval warships.
Iran welcomes Navy Flotilla after four-month international operation
Makran can accommodate five helicopters on its deck at the same time.
Before this, Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, the commander of the Iranian Navy, had announced the plan for this force to be present in the Panama Canal. It seems that this goal would be achieved during the mission of the 86th flotilla.
The 86th naval flotilla of the army started its mission last October aimed at traveling around the globe. As reported by Brazilian sources, it will reach this country in a few days and must pass through the Panama Canal to continue its journey.
The Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran started its seafaring missions on the ocean level in 2010 to counter piracy in the Gulf of Aden by traveling a distance of 3000 kilometers to this area. After that until today, combat navigators are sent to the region of the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic oceans.
