Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the new Foreign Minister of China had a telephone conversation and discussed bilateral relations and international developments.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian had a telephone conversation with China's new Foreign Minister Qin Gang.

Congratulating the Chinese government and people on Spring feast and Chinese New Year, Amir-Abdollahian wished Chinese counterpart success in his post as the new Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Emphasizing the development of relations with Iran, the new Chinese foreign minister invited Amir-Abdollahian to visit China.

In this telephone conversation, the foreign ministers of the two countries exchanged views on the latest state of bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues.

Referring to the successful visit of the Deputy Prime Minister of China to Tehran, Amir- Abdollahian assessed the importance of continuing the exchange of high-ranking delegations between the two countries to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China.

Emphasizing the importance that China attaches to the development of relations with Iran, Qin Gang also stressed using all opportunities in this direction, including the consultation of foreign ministers and the exchange of high-ranking delegations.

China has appointed its U.S. envoy, Qin Gang, as the new foreign minister.
