Tehran (IP)- The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanaani, says: "The Persian Gulf and its name is a historical, permanent, documented and undeniable fact, and repeating a fake name does not change the truth and does not create legitimacy for it."

Iran PressIran news: Responding to a question regarding the use of a fake name for the Persian Gulf by some Iraqi institutions and officials, including the Prime Minister, the spokesman stated: For thousands of years, the Persian Gulf has been named the same in ancient documents, maps, and texts. It is the name and it will remain the same name forever.

Pointing out that it is not possible to spend from the rich capital of historical solidarity of regional countries to please others, Kanaan said: Iran-Iraq relations are beyond individuals and institutions and are rooted in the depth of history and civilization of the two countries.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent a protest note due to the statements.
