Iran Press/ Iran news: Speaking about the statements by officials in some countries in the region, he said: "These islands belong to Iran, and in the oldest documents, the name of the southern waterway of Iran was the Persian Gulf."
Talking about the sanctions against Iran, Tehran's Friday prayer leader said: "Europe, the US, and their allies started a sanctions race to isolate Iran, but they will never achieve their goals."
Referring to the British House of Commons's move sanctioning the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), Seyed Ahmad Khatami added: "The IRGC, the Armed Forces, Basij, and the Ministry of Defense are the most powerful defense arms of Iran, and every country that called them terrorists has declared its hostile position against the Iranian nation."
