The Iraqi ambassador to Tehran, in a meeting with the vice-chairman of the Economic Commission of Iran's Parliament said that the relations between the two countries are strong, long-standing as both side stressed further deepening.

Iran PressIran News: At a meetin with Shahbaz Hasanpour Bigleri, the deputy chairman of the Economic Commission of Iranian Parliament, Nasir Abdul Mohsen Abdullah, the Iraqi ambassador toTehran said that Iran-Iraq relations in various fields, including economic relations, are at a good and acceptable level which should be strengthened by the joint efforts of the two countries.

Nasir Abdul Mohsen Abdullah considered political visits as an important factor in the development and strengthening of Iran-Iraq relations and added: "there have been many meetings between the officials of the two countries in various fields, which we hope will reach the implementation stage soon and benefit from its results in the near future."

Also, in this meeting, the vice chairman of the Economic Commission of Iran's Parliamnt said: "the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq have had long-standing and strong relations with each other, and these relations will be deepened with more cooperation between the two countries in various fields, especially in the economic field."

Among the Arab countries of West Asia, Iraq has the most cultural and religious affinities with Iran. 219
