Iraq (IP) – The Islamic Republic of Iran is to open the first international branch of the Tehran University of Medical Science in Iraq.

Iran PressMiddle East: The Iranian Minister of Health and his Iraqi counterpart had a meeting in Baghdad on Tuesday, where they announced that the first international branch of the Tehran University of Medical Science would be opened in Karbala. 

Iran's health minister Bahram Einollahi arrived in Baghdad on Tuesday and discussed the exchange of college professors and students between the two countries with his Iraqi counterpart Saleh Mahdi al-Hosnawi. 

Al-Hosnawi, for his part, stressed the expansion of medical cooperation between Iraq and Iran and said: " In addition to academic cooperation, the Iraqi government is going to use Iran's medical experiences in treating incurable patients as well as the fight against drugs in the Islamic Republic."

The use of Iranian medical equipment made the Iraqi Ministry of Health was also one of the other issues raised in the meeting.
