Iran's foreign minister and his Swedish counterpart discussed the issue of peace talks in Yemen.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom in the telephone conversation on Friday talked about the new rounds of peace talks in Yemen.

The new rounds of peace talks in Yemen is expected to be held in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, Iran Press reported.

On Jul. 10, Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven has stressed that "massacring of Yemeni children must come to an end."

Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Maltese Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion Carmelo Abela also met in Rome, Italy, on Friday and discussed bilateral relations and issues like Yemen.

The two sides discussed issues relevant to bilateral relations, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), regional developments, especially those in Yemen and Syria, and other points of mutual interest.

Earlier, Zarif and his Omani counterpart met and discussed latest developments in Tehran-Muscat ties and regional issues.

In a separate meeting with with the UN Syria envoy, Zarif  with the UN Syria envoy.

Resolution of Syria crisis through diplomacy, compilation of the country's constitution, dispatch of humanitarian relief aid and reconstruction of the war-torn region were the topics discussed during the meeting between Zarif and de Mistura.

Al-Houthi stressed that Yemen suffers from the largest humanitarian crisis, created by US and Saudi-backed troops. 

Since March 2015 from the start of Saudi-led invasion, nearly 14,000 Yemenis, including 5,000 women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.

The Houthis and allied armed forces, however, have managed to inflict heavy losses on the invaders.

The United Nations humanitarian chief said the war on Yemen has left as many as 8.4 million people in the Arab world’s already poorest nation in need of urgent food aid.105/201
