Kabul (IP) – Taliban arrested an ISIS element for the last week’s shooting attack targeting the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul.

Iran PressAsia: Taliban authorities said Monday they had arrested a foreign operative of the ISIS terrorist outfit for conducting last week’s attempted assassination on Pakistan’s chief diplomat in Afghanistan, the ABC News reported.

Earlier on Sunday, ISIS terrorist outfit claimed responsibility for an attack on Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul.

The attack wounded at least one guard and caused damage to the building.

Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul came under attack on Friday with gunfire, injuring a Pakistani security guard, officials said, in what Islamabad called an attempt to assassinate its head of mission, who was unhurt.

A spokesperson for Kabul police said the embassy compound was targeted by gunfire from a nearby building. Police had arrested one suspect and recovered two firearms, the statement said.
