Belgrade (IP) – In a meeting with the President of Serbia, Iran's Foreign Minister underlined the Islamic Republic's support for Serbia's territorial integrity.

Iran PressEurope: During the Monday meeting, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian reiterated President Raisi's invitation for President Aleksandar Vucic to visit Tehran and underlined Iran's support for Serbia's territorial integrity.

Amir-Abdollahian also presented a report of the talks held with the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Serbia and emphasized the need to promote cooperation in various fields.

Iran's foreign minister considered it necessary to use innovative mechanisms to promote economic cooperation and increase trade volume.

Vucic, for his part, said that Iran is an essential country in the region and that Serbia attaches importance to developing ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He stressed strengthening Iran-Serbia cooperation according to the capacities of the two countries.

Iran's FM Hossein Amir-Abdollahian left Tehran for Belgrade on Sunday, leading a diplomatic delegation.  

Before the meeting, Amir-Abdollahian had met separately with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister of Serbia.

Amir-Abdollahian met with Iranian ambassadors to Europe on Sunday.
