Tehran (IP)- Iran's Foreign Minister reacted to the parliament's approval of Iran's joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO).

Iran PressIran news:  Hossein Amirabdollahian wrote on Twitter: "The decisive vote of the parliament on the bill for the accession of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization(SCO) shows the determination and seriousness of our country to develop regional, international, and economic cooperation, and to strengthen its look to Asia."

"The multilateralism approach is the reality of the current century," the tweet reads.

Earlier on Today, Members of Iran's parliament agreed with the bill for the membership of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

Explaining the importance of this bill, Abolfazl Amouei, the spokesman of the National Security Commission of the Parliament, said: "The Shanghai Cooperation Organization centered on the five countries of China, Russia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan was formed on the basis of the fight against terrorism, and Iran became an observer member of this organization for 15 years. It applied for permanent membership, and finally, at the 22nd meeting in Tashkent, its permanent membership documents were signed by the organization's secretariat."
