Tehran (IP) – The foreign ministers of Iran and the UAE discussed and exchanged views on the ways to expand bilateral cooperation and strengthen the security and stability of the region in a phone call.

Iran PressIran News: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan consulted on cooperation opportunities between Iran and the UAE in line with the two countries' common interests and reviewed ways to strengthen bilateral relations.

The UAE foreign minister expressed the desire of the UAE to strengthen joint work and constructive regional and international cooperation to establish security and stability in the region.

He also exchanged views on the latest regional and global issues of common interest and underlined the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to "guarantee the sovereignty of countries and support international laws and the United Nations Charter."

The foreign ministers of Iran and the UAE had also met and discussed issues of mutual interest on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly last September in New York regarding bilateral relations.
