Indonesia (IP) - The Presidents of the US and China met prior to the G20 summit in Bali Island of Indonesia.

Iran PressAsia: In the meeting on Monday, the Chinese President Xi Jinping said that after more than 50 years of diplomatic ties between the US and China, the status quo of the relations was not in the interest of the two countries.

Xi noted that it was not what the international community expected, and that China and the US need to have a sense of responsibility for history, the world, and the people.

According to Xinhua, the Chinese President stressed that the two countries must cooperate to explore the right way to get along with each other in the new era, put the relationship on the right course, and bring it back to the track of a healthy and stable growth to the benefit of themselves and the world as a whole.

The US President Joe Baden, for his part, said his country does not seek a new Cold War, does not seek to revitalize alliances against China, does not support 'Taiwan independence,' does not support 'two Chinas' or 'one China, one Taiwan,' and has no intention to have a conflict with China.
