Iran Press/ Iran News: On Sunday evening, an explosion occurred on İstiklal Avenue overlooking Taksim Square in Istanbul.
Six people were killed and 81 injured in the incident.
Speaking shortly before departing for Tuesday’s G20 summit in Bali, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke of a “treacherous attack,” adding: “Those responsible will be punished.”
"Condolences to the government and people of the friendly and brotherly country of Turkey," Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian tweeted on Monday, adding: "We condemn in the strongest terms the terrorist act in Istanbul and the targeting of innocent people."
"Terrorism, either in Taksim or Shah Cheragh, is condemned all over the world," the tweet reads.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu appreciated Iran's support to that country.
"My brother, Amir! thank you for your message of condolence and solidarity, Cavusoglu replied to Iran's FM tweet.
