Tehran (IP) – Iran's President and Russia's visiting Security Council secretary met in Tehran on Wednesday.

Iran PressIran News: Nikolai Patrushev, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council arrived in Tehran Tuesday night and met with Admiral Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Nikolai Patrushev traveled to Tehran on the official invitation of Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

President Raisi received Patrushev in a meeting with the presence of the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, and his Deputy Chief of Staff for Political Affairs, Mohammad Jamshidi.

Nikolai Patrushev, before meeting President Raisi met with his Iranian counterpart Ali Shamkhani earlier in the day when the Iranian side announced Iran's readiness to play its role to find a settlement to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Shamkhani noted that Iran supports any initiative for a truce or peace in the Ukraine war.

He pointed out that dialogue is the only way out of regional and international crises.

Patrushev, for his part, referred to the resolve between Tehran and Moscow to further cement ties.

He stated that boosting the implementation of joint projects has been one of the main agendas of his visit to Tehran.

Patrushev called for convergence in shoring up transit potentials, especially in the completion of an International North-South Transit Corridor (INSTC).
