Yemen (IP) - With the support of the Yemeni Zakat National Association, 10,000 boys and girls married and celebrated their wedding in a large joint ceremony.

Iran PressMiddle East: Zakat is a form of almsgiving, often collected by the Muslim Ummah. It is considered in Islam as a religious obligation and, by Quranic ranking, is next after prayer (salat) in terms of importance.

Sheikh Shamsan Abunashtan, head of Zakat National Association in Yemen, said that similar wedding ceremonies would be held throughout the country from Wednesday.

Abunashtan encouraged the affluent people, employers, and other people who paid zakat to continue to cooperate with the assembly.

Also, the Yemeni Mufti Sheikh Shams ul-Din Sharaf ul-Din called on the Yemeni people to facilitate the marriage of the young boys and girls, given the hard conditions due to the war in Yemen.  Saudi Arabia, supported by the US, along with some other states, including the UAE, have been invading Yemen through land, sea, and air since 2015.

The Saudi warmongering has so far led to the killing and injury of hundreds of thousands of Yemenis and displacing 4 million people.
